A historic first sod has been turned on the property Sneden 1:6, Enköping Municipality, in the Mälardalen region.
The property is the first of several land areas in Sweden that Kilenkrysset sold earlier in the year to Panattoni, Europe's largest developer of industrial and logistics properties.
On the property Sneden 1:6, Panattoni will build a speculative building in the form of a modern logistics warehouse of 68,000 sq m, including 9,700 sq m of warehouse mezzanine along both long sides. The mezzanine level also has concept offices of 325 sq m at each entrance. The building will have an attractive location close to both green areas and central Enköping, an excellent logistics location directly connected to the E18 and National Road 55, with good transport links to several cities: Arlanda, Stockholm, Södertälje, Uppsala and Örebro.
Construction starts in autumn 2022 and is expected to be complete in autumn 2023. With the right tenant, the building will create up to 400 new jobs in Enköping Municipality. The building is being built to the BREEAM Excellent environmental certification and will stand on a 200 mm Teqton slab. The building is heated by geothermal heat, and the roof is prepared for a roof-mounted solar power installation.

“It is with pleasure that we now turn this first sod. The establishment on this land will contribute to the continued positive development of business establishments throughout Sweden. Our warm congratulations to both Panattoni and Enköping Municipality; this is a world-class establishment!” says Jan Persson, CEO and owner of Kilenkrysset.
“Less than a year ago we at Panattoni opened our first office here in Sweden, and this historic ground-breaking is already taking place. Good cooperation between all the parties involved is what made this possible. One important person to mention is Jan Persson and his company Kilenkrysset. It is truly very inspiring and gratifying to develop projects in the Swedish logistics market together. Sharing the same vision and values gives us tremendous strength, inspiration, understanding and faith in the future,” says Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell, CEO of Panattoni Sweden.
“We are very pleased that Panattoni has chosen Enköping. Their establishment confirms our strong logistics location in Sweden,” says Peter Book, Chair of the Municipal Executive Board, Enköping Municipality.
