Just a few months after Panattoni's very first ground-breaking in Sweden, a spade went into the ground again today. This time for almost 300,000 sq m of warehouse space in Strängnäs. The aim is to create a large logistics hub and strengthen the Strängnäs business community with projects that create hundreds of jobs.

Panattoni is one of the world's largest developers of logistics and industrial properties. In June 2022 it acquired land from Kilenkrysset, and today the first sod was turned in Strängnäs in front of some 80 spectators. Present were Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell, CEO of Panattoni Sweden; Jan Persson, CEO, owner and Chairman of the Board of Kilenkrysset; and Jacob Högfeldt, Chair of the Municipal Executive Board in Strängnäs.

– Strängnäs has a very interesting logistics location, right where the E20 and Road 55 meet. It is close to Stockholm, by far the largest consumer market in Sweden, and at the same time offers the opportunity to reach the whole country and, by extension, all of Scandinavia. Both the business community and the political leadership in Strängnäs are marked by a positive spirit and a good climate, which are very good conditions for us to succeed together in creating this logistics hub, says Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell, CEO of Panattoni Sweden.

– We look forward to seeing what Panattoni's establishment in Strängnäs will mean for our future development and how it will contribute further to Strängnäs Municipality's growth journey. We have historically had strong population growth and now look forward to the same growth journey on the business side. Together we are creating the place of the future to live and work in, says Jacob Högfeldt (M), Chair of the Municipal Executive Board, Strängnäs.

In line with Panattoni's business model, construction in Strängnäs starts on a speculative basis. This means there is no need to wait for a prospective tenant before the spade goes into the ground. In this way, modern properties can be brought to the market at a fast pace while still being adaptable to the tenant's needs. Occupancy is expected in the first quarter of 2024.

“With its strategic location, Panattoni's future logistics hub in Strängnäs will benefit the business community across Sweden and attract many exciting establishments to the country,” says Jan Persson, CEO, owner and Chairman of the Board of Kilenkrysset.
