Kilenkrysset has signed a sale agreement to divest Rikskombiterminalen in Rosersberg through a corporate transaction to Train Alliance Sweden AB (“Train Alliance”). Possession is expected to take place on 1 March 2021.

The underlying property value amounts to SEK 302 m, and payment consists partly of cash and partly of newly issued class B shares in Train Alliance. Kilenkrysset is already one of the larger owners of Train Alliance and, with this transaction, becomes Train Alliance's largest owner in terms of share of capital. Kilenkrysset and Train Alliance already jointly own an associated company.

Rikskombiterminalen in Rosersberg is one of the few national combined terminals in Sweden and one of Sweden's largest full-service terminals. The terminal is of national interest for Swedish logistics and is located next to the Swedish Transport Administration's infrastructure. The property comprises a site area of approx. 140,000 sq m, an office property of approx. 420 sq m and installations in the form of four parallel railway tracks over a distance of 750 metres.

“I am very proud of this transaction, and Train Alliance is definitely the right buyer. We have known each other well for a long time, and I view positively their strategy of establishing the area in Sigtuna as ‘Järnvägscentrum Stockholm Nord’. With Stockholm Nord as a starting point or destination, all the conditions for global transport are in place. From an environmental perspective, this transport reduces climate impact compared with other options, which we at Kilenkrysset value highly,” says Jan Persson, CEO and owner of Kilenkrysset.

The sale also includes unused expansion areas adjacent to Train Alliance's existing land holdings, where the company already has its own rail connections to the East Coast Line. The land will thus be the last piece of the puzzle in a complete land holding in an area of strategic importance for Swedish rail infrastructure. Through the acquisition, Train Alliance strengthens its position as a facility partner for rail-related businesses and supports the Company's expansion in the Sigtuna area and the strategic plan to establish the area as “Järnvägscentrum Stockholm Nord”. Train Alliance expects to be able to increase occupancy at Rikskombiterminalen significantly within a relatively short time.

“Train Alliance is very proud to acquire this complete and outstanding facility, which fits very well into our strategic work of creating excellent locations for the rail market and its expansion.
We are also very pleased and proud that Kilenkrysset is becoming a major owner of Train Alliance, which further shows our good cooperation,” says Otto Persson, Chairman of the Board, Train Alliance.
