On 28 February 2019, Kilenkrysset completed a land transaction covering 310 ha of raw land. The land area is adjacent to the exit from the E4 into Knivsta and, according to the ongoing detailed development plan, is expected to be zoned for warehouses, industry and offices.
“The vision is to develop Knivsta into an attractive new logistics hub, and for the area eventually to take on the same character as the logistics areas Kilenkrysset has built up in Rosersberg and Kungsängen,” says Anders Solberg, Head of Development at Kilenkrysset.

The establishment of new industrial areas has always been close to Kilenkrysset's heart, and land areas such as the one in Knivsta are one of the prerequisites for making establishment possible. Another is the municipality's willingness to foster a good business climate, something Jan Persson believes Uppsala Municipality does not currently have. Below is an excerpt from the news report broadcast on SVT Nyheter Uppsala on 20 January 2021.
– Promises have not been kept, things have dragged on and on, and it has also felt as though the municipality has not been interested, says Jan Persson, CEO and owner of Kilenkrysset.
And he is not alone in questioning Uppsala's business climate. Several business owners have contacted Jan Persson to ask whether he has premises elsewhere that companies can move to. Their views are partly supported by the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise's annual business climate survey, in which Uppsala has recorded modest rankings for around ten years. Last year Uppsala came 212th out of 290 municipalities.
